We don't fear the turtle.

Was anyone else thrilled when this Saturday's game was moved from Yankee Stadium to Rutgers? Anyone who had attended the Pinstripe Bowl games there knows that the field in the Bronx is no place to play or watch football.

See you in Piscataway in three days! It's time for a third B1G win, especially after so many critics picked Rutgers to go winless in the conference in 2017.

The Beat Visitor Bowl Poll

Please vote in the sidebar poll I've just added to the right, and which will be live until December 28th.

I have a strong feeling about this question, but I'd love to see how some of the Scarlet Knights' other fans feel about the importance of the Pinstripe Bowl to their final evaluation of this strange gap year in the Double-A C conference.

Will a win over Notre Dame in the Bronx make the 2013 Rutgers football season a total success, a partial success, or something much less?

Post-Game Update 12/29/13:
Well, we didn't beat the golden domers in Yankee Stadium yesterday, but here's a snapshot of the results of the (now meaningless) poll before I remove it from the sidebar:

The Scarlet Knights leaving the dugout.

Another short video from yesterday's Pinstripe Bowl victory. Here are the Scarlet Knights taking the field from the dugut on the third-base line (if there were a third-base line at Yankee Stadium rather than a gridiron):

Watch in on YouTube to see the full width.

"Hey Big E! Hey Big E! This one's for you buddy!"

Here's a short iPhone video taken from my seat in section 122  of the trophy presentation at Yankee Stadium after the Scarlet Knights' 27-13 Pinstripe Bowl victory over the Iowa State Cyclones.  You can see Jawan Jamison getting his MVP award and Greg Schiano dedicating the win to Eric LeGrand.

What "SI Curse" for appearing on the Sports Illustrated cover right before a big game?

I just ordered my tickets to the Pinstripe Bowl

Let's make Yankee Stadium a sea of red on December 30th for the Scarlet Knights' bowl game against Iowa State.

Not exactly "The Birthplace of College Football", but it'll do.
I know there was some disappointment after the loss to Connecticut ending the regular season, but no one picked Rutgers to finish 8-4 this year (most "experts" picked us to finish last in the Big East), so let's cheer loudly for dear old R.U. to get their ninth victory of the year over the Iowa State Cyclones.

Is this the Rutgers Helmet for Saturday's game against Army?

If so, which quarterback will be wearing it to start the game at Yankee Stadium?  Gary Nova or Chas Dodd?

(Update: Greg Schiano announced this morning that Chas Dodd will be the starting quarterback versus the Black Knights next Saturday.  After his performance at the end of last Saturday night's win against the USF Bulls, it shouldn't have even been a question, should it?)

An Epic Joust in "The House that Ruth Built" (or a reasonable facsimile thereof)

According to this short piece on the New York Post website today, the Black Knights of Army and the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers will be meeting at Yankee Stadium in 2011. At least the new car smell of the Stadium's vinyl seats will have been replaced by the smell of stale spilled Budweiser by then.

This is a series of jousts that dates back to 1891, the second year that they were playing football at West Point. The Black Knights still lead the series 18-17, but the Scarlet Knights are on a five-game winning streak and should be even with the men from Michie Stadium soon.
..............
I hope to see you there, and Go Knights! (you know which ones we mean) and Wear Red to the Game.
